Sh|ft uses installative and performative tools to create a sound world that makes use of the special features of the space on a material and temporal level.
The sound material is generated from the elements of water and stone, drawing on objets trouvés from the water reservoirs as well as external material.
Through an interplay of several installations distributed throughout the space, a carpet of sound is created. The four performers play exclusively in the space itself, but act as foreign bodies, providing a counterpoint of scratching, scraping and beating.

In this way, they make the unique acoustics of the space their own, test its limits and attempt to sonically saturate the space in a concentrated layering of echoes and feedbacks.
